A COMMUNITY pool run entirely by volunteers are celebrating a successful bid for an important piece of equipment.

Overton Community Pool has been awarded a new heat pump by the Four Lanes Trust as its current one is no longer up to the task.

Four Lanes trustees were impressed with the standard of the facility and the community involvement at the pool.

Lauren McCann, a trustee of the Lordsfield Swimming Club at Overton Community Pool said: “At a time when many outdoor pools are being closed, Overton Community Pool is a real success story.

"Run by the community for the community, it has provided affordable swimming for everyone in Overton Parish since the early 1960s.
