MORE than 100 team members from 20 KFC restaurants across Hampshire took to the streets to litter pick.

Staff members were joined by local litter picking groups and local councillors on the day, which also launched the Great British Spring Clean.

As a headline partner for Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean, KFC has announced a series of new litter commitments including the creation of a £40,000 fund to support and equip local litter picking groups in their efforts to tidy up local areas, which will be distributed by Keep Britain Tidy.

It also includes a commitment to partner with three local councils across the UK to trial new ways to tackle littering, such as testing localised anti-littering marketing messages and the creation of new concept rubbish bins.

Chief corporate affairs and sustainability officer, Jenny Packwood said: “As the weather warms up and we all enjoy more time outside, the eyesore of litter in our local communities is more noticeable than ever. That’s why we’re joining forces with Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean to make sure more people can enjoy the outdoor space around them with our biggest ever litter pickin’ mission with over 3,000 of our team members."
