BUSINESSES in Andover town centre are being encouraged to take part in a competition to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

As part of the celebrations, Andover Town Council will run a ‘Best Dressed Window’ Competition.

The council is encouraging all businesses in the town centre to dress their windows where possible.

Andover Town Council would ask that windows be dressed by May 11.

On this date a list of all windows dressed for the competition will be announced on the Andover Town Council website and Facebook page.

The windows will be judged by the public who will be asked to vote for the Best Dressed Window.

Votes will be counted on June 1 and the winner announced shortly after.

The competition will be part of plenty of celebrations taking place over the bank holiday weekend to mark the occasion, including a street festival in the town centre from 11am to 5pm.

The event will be a collaboration of food, music, arts and culture.
