AN ENVIRONMENTAL charity in Andover is calling on residents to support its upcoming fundraising gala.

Andover Trees United is hoping to raise £8,000 to appoint a community outdoor learning officer to help it take forwards its work with the community and local conservation, ecology, climate action, arts and wellbeing projects.

It is hosting a 10 year celebratory fundraising gala evening event on Friday, May 6 from 7pm to 11pm.

It will be an evening of delicious food and live entertainment at The Wolversdene Club in Andover, as well as an "auction of promises".

A spokesperson for the charity said: "We need our community to support us and our collaborative work by purchasing tickets and coming along to our events and/ or sponsoring or making a donation.

"This not only means we can develop our ongoing work in climate action, conservation and sustainability but also in improving confidence, wellbeing and biodiversity in our local area and by connecting real people through a love of nature, conservation, ecology, sustainability, climate action and arts so we can continue to offer more opportunities for all to inclusively and positively connect, grow and develop in harmony."
