ANDOVER councillors have welcomed news that a driving theory test centre in the town has submitted plans to install a disabled access ramp outside.
Pearson VUE, which runs the driving theory test centre at Portland House on Andover High Street, has applied to Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) for permission to build a wheelchair ramp outside the venue.
The ramp would be constructed from brick and cast concrete, with tubular steel handrails, and would be a minimum width of 1500mm.
At a meeting of Andover Town Council’s planning committee on Monday (April 25) members gave no objection to the plans.
Cllr Nigel Long said: “I am just pleased that they are looking after disabled people in the town.”
