A CHARITY that gives free breaks at top hotels to the most deserving in society is calling on people to take part in some relaxation to help its cause.

Room to Reward partners with hotels across the country to ensure their unsold rooms are well used by donating them to 'hidden heroes'.

Charities and community groups nominate people for a well-earned short break, with more than 1,100 people from 700 charities and groups taking up the stays since it launched in 2015.

The charity, which is based at Christchurch, started out with hotels in Dorset and Hampshire and has now signed 650 hotels from across the UK to its initiative.

Now, as it looks to help more people, it is holding a relaxation day dubbed ‘Relax to Reward’ that will see a host of well-being activities take place on Avon Beach in Mudeford on July 6.

The day will see yoga and pilates classes – including paddle-board yoga and various fitness treatments – light snacks and refreshments, health guidance and a fundraising raffle before culminating with cocktails and a silent disco yoga class at sunset.

Kate Wood, fundraising executive at Room to Reward, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing this event to Avon Beach and can’t wait for a fantastic afternoon of fun and fundraising.

"I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the instructors and organisations who are supporting the event, along with our main sponsors, The Noisy Lobster, Hush Club, Temple Spa, Dorset Tea and OTO. Their amazing support has made what promises to be a wonderful event possible.”

Tickets for Relax to Reward, which starts at 2.30pm, are £50.

All the money raised through sales and events on the day will go towards Room to Reward’s mission.

Kate said: “We are a small charity where all donations have a real impact on what we are able to do.

“Every penny we raise through events like this helps us make a real difference to charities, communities and the Hidden Heroes who do so much for them.”

Room to Reward recently signed up the Lore Group, which runs Sea Containers London – a lifestyle riverside hotel in South Bank – and the recently-opened 100 Shoreditch, and Crerar Hotels, which runs seven luxury hotels in Scotland, to its scheme.

It also has top hotels such as Chewton Glen in New Milton, Careys Manor Hotel in Brockenhurst and Southampton Harbour Hotel, plus many more, on its books
