WITH preparations now in full swing for the 2022 event, the sponsors for one of Pride of Andover’s extra special awards, the Sue Sheppard award, has been announced as The Commercial Centre.

The award celebrates inspiring individuals who have turned their lives around against all odds, demonstrating personal courage, bravery or endeavour to overcome personal challenges, showing that with hard work, passion and belief anyone, despite their circumstances, can make a success of things.

The award honours the late Sue Sheppard who sadly passed away in 2014. Sue was well known for her commitment to Andover, her work with the Prince’s Trust (among others) and her work at the Pride of Andover Awards from 2007 – 2012.

Simon Potter of The Commercial Centre said of the Sue Sheppard award: “I chose to support the Sue Sheppard Award again this year because I knew Sue well so this category, and continuing her memory, means a lot to me. There are so many selfless, passionate and community-minded people in Andover, all doing wonderful things for our town that go totally unnoticed, and I believe it’s vital that these people receive the recognition they absolutely deserve.”

With 11 categories available, including the special Sue Sheppard award, the Pride of Andover Awards gives residents the opportunity to recognise an inspiring individual who would otherwise continue as an unsung hero.

Nominations for the Awards open on July 1 2022 via the Awards’ website: prideofandoverawards.org.uk/nominate.
