Test Valley Brass (TVB) is delighted to announce the appointment of Ed March as the musical director for the TVB Group of Bands, and principal conductor for their senior band.

Already an Andover resident, Ed is an experienced brass player, being proficient on valved brass and trombone, having honed his skills with the band of the Blues and Royals where he performed in prestigious events such as the Trooping of the Colour, and was the Queen’s Personal Trumpeter for the state visit of the King of Saudi Arabia in 2007.

He also brings experience of having conducted wind and brass bands both in the UK and overseas.

Regarding his appointment, TVB’s newly-appointed chairman Helen Bedwell said: “I am absolutely delighted for everyone involved with Test Valley Brass that we have appointed Ed as musical director. I have seen so much enthusiasm already in rehearsals last week, from players young and old!

“I’m looking forward to seeing how the Test valley Brass Bands all develop under his direction – exciting times ahead!”

Ed added: “I’m really looking forward to conducting the band. I’m impressed by the strong structure of the TVB band system, which gives excellent opportunities for adults as well as young people not just to learn skills in music, but also to be part of a community that creates lifelong friendships and supports the creative arts in Andover and adjoining districts. They’re a welcoming, fun and friendly group, with a very promising future.”
