AN ENTERTAINER will be singing in Andover to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Sarah Lee, who his known professionally as 'Sarah Lee Entertainer', is a singer from Shipton Bellinger, and on Saturday, July 30 she will be performing at Andover Central Club, which will be hosting its annual charity golf day/evening in memory of Justin pragnell.

In November 2019 Justin sadly died after a battle with cancer at the age of 47. In July 2021 his brother Luke started a charity golf day in his memory, raising money for Cancer Research.

This year would have been Justin's 50th birthday and will be the second annual golf day.

Sarah said: "My story over the last two years starts with me scratching my head, thinking how I could not only keep myself busy but also how I could help in whatever way I could as people tried to cope in their own way through lockdown. So, for the first time, I picked up a microphone and pressed 'live' on Facebook and sang some songs; a couple of people stopped to watch and I couldn’t believe it, the numbers kept growing."

Every penny that is raised through the event will be going to Cancer Research, with no money having to be paid out.

Sarah added: "From my spare room I’ve kept doing it every Sunday at 8pm since, and shows raising funds for various charities and good causes regularly getting over hundred watching each gig; subsequent viewings can range between 10,000 and 35,000 and incredibly I now have over 20,000 followers and its growing everyday.

"The sense of togetherness is incredible, the amount of friendship and support shared amongst this community I think is a positive message that needs to be spread coming out of Covid. Although now thankfully back out gigging I will continue entertaining online."

Everyone is welcome to join in at the Central Club from 7pm onwards with free entry.
