A GRANT worth thousands of pounds was donated to an event which was enjoyed by Andover residents over the weekend.

A £2,000 multi-ward grant from Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) was awarded to Andover's Summer Fayre, organised by Our Andover CIC.

The fayre, which took place on Saturday, featured activities for families such as a sack race, brass bands, birds of prey, performers, music and an event arena with traditional children’s activities.

Cllr Iris Andersen, said: "TVBC ward councillors were happy to support this event. It brings families together and with it being a bank holiday weekend and also very local in the centre of the at Vigo Park it was very easy to get to after people had done their shopping in the town they could pop up to the event."
