ARCHERS from all over the south-east of England and further afield took part in the regional field archery championships held at the hills above Kingsclere and hosted by Overton Black Arrows.
The club was also raising money for their chosen charity, Time to Talk. The event raised a further £225 which has been added to this year’s total.
The archers were shooting a World Archery 3D round where competitors shoot two arrows at each of 24 fake animal targets.
Targets were roughly life-sized, but not what you would normally see in the area, with Vernon the Velociraptor, a Stegosaurus, Polar bears and a large blue deer, to name a few.
Fifty-two archers took part from all over the south east of England, with some visitors from further afield.
Local club archers from Overton Black Arrows did well, with Rob Aldridge coming fourth in the Barebow category, Richard Buckner and Paul Williams finishing first and second in the Recurve category and Steve Allam and Angus Falcon Relf coming second and third in the Traditional category.
