FRAUDULENT text messages have been circulating leading Hampshire police to send out a warning.

Andover Police took to Twitter to inform residents about the messages, urging residents to ignore a text message informing them how to claim energy rebates and discounts.

They told residents never to click on the links and reminded them that energy rebates will be automatically added to accounts by suppliers.

Andover Police tweeted: "We are aware of fraudulent text messages circulating how to claim energy rebates and discounts. Never click on the links. Energy rebates will be automatically added to your account by your supplier. Please pass the word to vulnerable family and friends."
