A BRAND-NEW textile art group is exhibiting for the first time in the run-up to Christmas at the Andover Museum Gallery.

Passionate about all things textile Alchemist’s Needle Textile Art Group, which is made up of eight artists, will be presenting their work in the gallery from Wednesday, November 2, right through to the New Year.

Using the magic of Alchemy – the power to change something in a mysterious or impressive way – they transform simple threads and fabric into stunning artworks using mixed media, machine and hand embroidery, print, quilting and felt.

The friends decided to form The Alchemist’s Needle back in 2020 with the simple aim of encouraging each other’s textile work and furthering their skill base through regular meetings and workshops.
