AN ANDOVER-based arts organisation is providing a creative lifeline to residents who are feeling isolated or unconnected, maybe through caring responsibilities, or physical or low mental health challenges.

The free, six-week art programme ‘Nature Naturally’ by Chapel Arts Studios (CAS) starts on Wednesday, November 2 and has been made possible by generous funding from Hampshire County Council.

CAS intends to deliver a programme of free art workshops to local adults who have been impacted by Covid, isolation and ill health, to improve wellbeing through art practice centred around nature.

The project aims to open up a whole new world of creativity for participants, to rekindle skills in art that have been left aside, or just enjoy a new interest in a supportive group with like-minded people facing similar challenges.

Participants of all experience levels will be led by professional artist Elizabeth Hammond, who specialises in drawing using different materials.

The course begins on November 2 and includes a free trip to Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, to inspire participants to create nature-themed artworks.

The course will culminate in an exhibition of the art created at the end of the project.
