AN ANDOVER fitness group is looking for sponsorship as they undertake a special challenge to raise money for a charity in Salisbury.

Members of Dawn Breakers, which runs out of the industrial estate in West Portway, is doing a 12-hour exercise challenge to raise money to buy a minibus for therapy farm Able Hands Together.

The challenge will be held from 6am to 6pm on Saturday, November 5, at Dawn Breakers headquarters at 20 Brunel Gate, West Portway.

The therapy farm, based in Warminster Road in Stoford, is run by Laura Tween who is a member of Dawn Breakers.

Able Hands Together provides support for adults with learning disabilities, offering social, vocational and employability skills, in addition to emotional and pastoral support.

The team at the therapy farm empowers the clients by arming them with the tools, activities and life skills necessary to fulfil their unique potential.

Dawn Breakers’ founder Andy Lavery said the 12-hour charity fitness challenge has been going since 2015 and has raised more than £100,000 for local causes over the years.

He added: “The pandemic hit all charities very hard, and this one – Able Hands Together – deserves a helping hand, which the Dawn Breakers want to give to them.

“Our members will exercise in two groups – 30 minutes on and off for 12 full hours.

“It is not an easy challenge and they need all the support they can get. Everyone involved has been training for many months every morning at Dawn Breakers, and now their fitness will be put to the test.”

Dawn Breakers is an early-morning fitness class with sessions starting as early as 4.30am.
