AN ARMISTICE day ceremony has been held at the War Memorial in Andover on Friday, November 11.
The ceremony, led by the Andover branch of the Royal British Legion and St Mary's Church, was attended by hundreds of people.
Among the people who led the service were RBL Andover chairman Duncan Powell, president and Test Valley Borough councillor Jim Neal, Test Valley deputy mayor Philip Lashbrook and St Mary's Church vicar Reverend Chris Bradish.
There was a Remembrance service followed by wreath-laying at the war memorial.
After the ceremony, deputy mayor Cllr Lashbrook said it was very important that "we remember the sacrifices that others made for us that we can live in the glory we have today".
He added: "To come here on this solemn occasion has been tremendous honour and privilege for me and my colleagues."
