A DRUNK driver has been banned from getting behind the wheel.

Katrina Richards, from Salisbury, drove a VW Golf on Winchester Road in Andover on Saturday, October 25, with 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.

She was disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay a fine of £346. On top of this magistrates ordered Richards to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge of £138.

AN ANDOVER man has been fined for being in possession of drugs in the town earlier this year.

Mark Turver, of Challis Court, was found with a quantity of cocaine and heroin on February 16.

The 52-year-old pleaded guilty to the offences during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.

Magistrates fined Turver £30  and forfeiture and destruction of the drugs were also granted during the hearing.

A MAN from Andover has been fined after failing to comply with the requirements of a community order.

Scott Thomas, of Winchester Road, failed to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Basingstoke Magistrates' Court by failing to attend an induction appointment.

Magistrates ordered the 33-year-old to pay a fine of £80 and court costs of £30.

A DRUG driver from Nether Wallop has been disqualified from driving for years.

James Lovell, of School Lane, was found to be driving a vehicle on the A343 in Andover with 422ug/L of benzoylecgonine in his blood on May 14, last year. The legal limit is 50.

On the same day, Lovell drove a Peugeot in Andover on the A343 on without being insured to do so.

The 41-year-old pleaded guilty to the offences during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.

He was disqualified from driving for three years and ordered to pay a fine of £200.

A MAN from Andover has been fined more than £100 after assaulting another man.

Robert Leonard, of Andover Road, jointly with Joseph Flowers assaulted another man on Friday, April 8 by beating him.

The 65-year-old pleaded not guilty but was later found guilty of the offence.

Magistrates fined him £160 and ordered him to pay a surcharge of £34.
