A DISQUALIFIED driver has been banned from getting behind the wheel a year after she was caught driving.

Susan Gokmen was caught on the A34 southbound at Sutton Scotney while driving a Vauxhall on October 16 when she was disqualified from doing so. She also did not have any relevant insurance.

The 60-year-old from Milton Keynes admitted the charges during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

She was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £250. She must also pay £85 court costs and a £100 victim surcharge.

MAGISTRATES have disqualified a driver from getting behind the wheel after he was found to be over the drug drive limit.

Leon Williams was stopped on the A34 at Whitchurch behind the wheel of a Vauxhall on August 10. He had 5.7ug/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol THC in his blood – the legal limit is two.

Williams, of Stetchford, admitted to driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

The 37-year-old was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £120. He was also ordered to pay a £48 victim surcharge and £37 court costs.

A MAN who was stopped on the A34 at Whitchurch while over the drug drive limit has been disqualified.

On August 15 Suresh De Alwis was caught behind the wheel of a Nissan Primastar while he had not less than 2.3ug/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol THC in his blood – the legal limit is two.

He also had 279ug/L of benzoylecgonine – the legal limit is 50.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, the 47-year-old of Hungerford admitted to the two offences.

He was banned from getting behind the wheel for 12 months and fined £120. He must also pay a £48 victim surcharge and £37 court costs.

A WHITCHURCH man has been fined and disqualified after he was caught drink driving in Basingstoke.

Harry Brenton, of Newbury Street, was stopped behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Corse on Alencon Link on November 1.

He had 57 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

The 18-year-old was banned from driving for 16 weeks and fined £120. He was also ordered to pay a £48 victim surcharge and £37 court costs.
