ARMED forces families in Andover have been treated to a free screening of a Christmas film.

The families were able to watch Arthur Christmas, thanks to the military children’s charity Little Troopers.

More than 50 people attended the screening at the ODEON which was organised by the charity as part of the charity's annual Christmas Smiles campaign.

Little Troopers Louise Fetigan said: “Christmas Smiles is all about bringing smiles to military children, especially those who will have a parent deployed during the holidays. We know there are lots of military children in Andover and the surrounding area so it was wonderful to be able to bring lots of these children together and get them excited for Christmas by watching a festive film.”

The cinema event is just one of many things that Little Troopers is doing to support military children this Christmas. The charity has partnered with Build-A-Bear Foundation to distribute 2,200 teddy bears to military families who are separated due to deployment. Military families can also login to a series of online events including a Santa show, elf workshops and a Christmas bake-a-long.

Little Troopers supports all children who have a parent in the British Armed Forces. The charity provides year-round resources that parents and schools can tap into to help support military children including its All Together deployment club, military teen podcast, Therapy Programme and more.
