The King’s Royal Hussars hosted a young boy at its Tidworth base on behalf of Make-a-Wish UK.
Humphrey’s wish ‘to be a soldier in the British Army’ gave him the chance to forget the challenges of his condition and put his marching into practice.
He inspected all the tanks, had lunch in the Officers' Mess, took part in drill and even got his very own uniform and regimental beret.
Reflecting on the day at Tidworth Garrison, Humphrey’s mum said: “It was simply a phenomenal experience he will never forget. Just incredible.
"Everyone was so kind and Humphrey adored it all and didn’t want it to end! You made his wish come true.”
