A MAN from Tidworth has been disqualified from driving for more than 10 months after getting behind the wheel while over the drug drive limit.

Daniel Knowles, of Pickernell Road, on December 22, last year, drove a vehicle on Pilgrims Way with 10 micrograms of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood - the legal limit is two.

During a hearing which was held on March 28 at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, the 31-year-old pleaded guilty to the drug driving offence.

Magistrates banned him from getting behind the wheel for 12 months and ordered him to pay a fine of £400.

Knowles was ordered to pay a victim surcharge fee of £160.

AN ANDOVER man who failed to provide a sample for the purpose of ascertaining if he had Class A drugs in his system has been fined.

Sean Ember, of no fixed abode in Andover, on February 28 in Basingstoke, failed to provide a sample for the purpose of ascertaining if he had Class A drugs in his system.

During a hearing held at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court held on March 27, the 34-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.

Ember was ordered by magistrates to pay a fine of £80. 

He was also told to pay court costs of £20 and a surcharge fee of £32.

A MAN has been ordered to complete unpaid work after being found with a folding knife.

James Parkin, of Ford Farm in Derbyshire, on December 11, last year, without good reason or lawful authority had in a public place a folding pocket knife which had a blade which exceeded 7.62 centimetres in Andover.

He also had in his possession a quantity of a Class B drug, cannabis.

During a hearing held at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on March 31, magistrates told the 21-year-old to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and ordered the knife and drugs to be destroyed.

He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £114.
