PEOPLE visiting a farm shop near Andover will now be able to enjoy milkshakes, with a variety of flavours, from its popular milk vending machine.

The Weyhill Farm Shop, which recently rebranded as Roberts Butchers, installed the milk dispenser on Good Friday and, due to popular demand, has included mixes and syrups to milkshakes - flavours including salted caramel and chocolate.

Sam Pidduck, who has been manager of the shop for over a year, said: "We're a proper butchers and have lots of delicious cuts and locally-sourced produce on the menu. We have lots of different meats and varieties of flavourings, so there is something for everyone.

"Farmers don't get the recognition they deserve so we're very happy to be able to help our local farmers, and we have some great relationships as a result, so it's beneficial for everyone involved."

Sam added: "We have a good reputation here which we have worked hard for. We produce some quality food and drink and it's fantastic that our customers can enjoy what we have on offer."

The milk dispenser had been intended for use in a pub in Stockbridge but, due to licencing issues, was snapped up and placed in front of The Weyhill Farm Shop. The milk for the machine comes from a farm in Romsey, which travels less than 20 miles from cow to the machine. The machine had milk flavourings added on Wednesday, April 19.

Sam said: "The machine was installed here on Good Friday. We posted something on Facebook which went everywhere and we had loads of people here trying it out and seeing how tasty the milk was.

"They've now added the options of milkshake and syrup mixes, and people are really enjoying it. I mean, the cows are milked in the morning and in the machine by the afternoon. You can't get much fresher than that!"

Next door to the farm shop is Waggys Coffee Shop, a dog-friendly cafe. Sam added: "If you've not been over and seen what we have to offer here, come on down. We're looking forward to seeing you."

The shop is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9am till 5pm, and between 9am and 3am on Saturday. The shop is closed on Sundays and Mondays. More information can be found at theweyhillfarmshop.co.uk or on Facebook at facebook.com/Theweyhillfarmshop.
