Andover's youth festival, A-Fest, will return to the town centre on Sunday, May 21, for its ninth year.

The festival will feature a variety of activities and events for young people and their families, including arts and crafts, sports, performances, and more.

It is organised by Chat Together CIC, a local organisation that works to promote youth engagement in Andover, with support from Test Valley Borough Council, Hampshire County Council, Andover Town Council and the National Lottery,

The festival will be held from 10am to 2pm on the High Street. Admission is free.

There will be five themed zones at A-Fest, each with a range of activities and experiences for young people and their families.

Get Involved zone will feature a variety of activities and organisations that young people can get involved with. This includes Andover Mind, Youth Options, Hampshire Constabulary, Test Valley Brass, The Abel Foundation, Purple Oak Support, Chapel Arts Studios, HIOW Youth Commission, Yellow Brick Road Projects, Nidge's Artisan Pizza Kitchen, Walls Funfair, Sweet Ideas, Steve's 3D Printing, Andover Diamond Designs, The Geek Emporium, and Glitterbugs Face Painting.

Performance zone will feature a variety of activities and performances related to music and theatre featuring Elite Sound and Light, Andover Youth Dance Company, and The Theming Company.

Identity and Self zone will explore the topics of identity and individuality, featuring Shelley Coburn from InAndover, Andy Fitchet from Bridge Street Methodist Church, the LifeBus, Marie Ponting, and the Andover Cultural Sharing Forum.

Health and Wellbeing zone will feature a variety of sports and movement activities for young people to enjoy, featuring Jason Holmes of Coaching in the Community CIC and the Andover YMCA.

Arts and Crafts zone will enable people to try new craft activities and take home their creations. This will feature John Ritchie from The Artroom and the Andover Arts Society.

Dmitrijs Meiksans, co-organiser of the festival, said: “We are so excited to be bringing A-Fest back to Andover for its ninth year. This year, we have a brand new format with five themed zones, each with something different to offer young people and their families. We hope to see you there!”
