A 13-YEAR-OLD boy from Andover has been celebrating with his family after starting his own business selling luxury hampers.

Henry Williams, 13, from Andover recently started up his own business, selling luxury 'pamper hampers' which are all sorted from the UK by artisan producers.

The idea came to Henry when he wanted to surprise his mum with a special treat to show her how much he appreciates everything she does for their family.

Henry decided to curate a gift box, fill it with a variety of luxurious pampering products and mouth-watering edible goodies.

Henry said: "The moment I presented the gift box to my mother, I saw the delight on her face. It filled my heart with warmth and satisfaction, and at that moment, I knew I had discovered something truly magical. I became determined to share this feeling with other children and their loved ones."

Henry sourced all the products for his first box, meeting with suppliers, testing products and negotiating the best wholesale price to make the box as affordable as possible. Products have to be ethically sourced and produced if possible but still provide a luxurious pampering experience.

Henry is looking at his next hamper, which is going to be specifically for dogs. He is working with a local company to help source the products to go inside the canine pamper hamper.

As well as this, Henry is also dipping his toe into selling on Amazon, sourcing reduced products from retailers and wholesalers and then selling them for a profit.

Henry's dad, Mark Williams, said: "I have been involved in many small business start-ups over the last 15 years, but I am very proud of Henry’s approach and zest for entrepreneurship.

"He is grasping the concepts of starting up a business and how to manage his own personal finances, in particular the need to invest and make his money work for him.  His passion can sometimes be relentless, but I am extremely proud of him."

Henry said: "I have tried a number of businesses so far but the Pamper Hampers have had the biggest traction so far.  It is hard work and takes up a lot of my free time but it will be worth it in the end. My aim is to be self-sufficient by the age of 16."
