AUDIENCES are invited to enjoy a season of outstanding classical concerts in the heart of Andover which starts later this month.

Andover Music Club is returning to host this year’s Andover Concert Series, with seven events for people to enjoy at The Lights, which runs until April 2024.

Opening the 77th season on Thursday, September 28, is The Kassia Trio who consist of Chloe Percy-Smith and Emma Jones on saxophones and Amy Bladon on piano. The concert will also include music by George Gershwin and Max Bruch.

Season tickets are available for the Andover Concert Series at £75 for all seven concerts. Individual concert tickets are available at £15 from The Lights website thelights.org.uk or by contacting the box office 01264 368368, the club secretary or on the door.

Andover Music Club was established in 1946 by Gladys New and has a history of welcoming well-known artists such as Jacqueline du Pré and Isobel Baillie.

A club spokesperson said: “Andover Music Club look forward to welcoming audiences to another season of outstanding professional music in the heart of Andover.”

As part of this year’s season renowned classical pianist, composer and broadcaster David Owen Norris returns to Andover Music Club as patron.

“David Owen Norris lived in Andover for many years and as such, is keen to support local music, and values the importance of local music clubs,” the spokesperson added.
