MAGISTRATES have disqualified an Andover driver who took to the roads when over the drink-drive limit.

Tiago Gouveia, Witan Close, on August 16 drove a vehicle in Silkweavers Road in Andover with 50 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.

During a hearing which was held at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on September 14, the 29-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.

Magistrates banned Gouveia from driving for 14 months and ordered a fine of £350 to be paid.

Court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £140 must also be paid.
