ANDOVER Town Band will once again be hosting a special event to mark Remembrance Day.

Andover Remembers – a Festival of Remembrance will be held at the Andover Baptist Church at 7pm, on Saturday, November 11.

The evening will follow a format similar to the famous annual event held at the Royal Albert Hall in London and will feature reflective music suitable for the occasion.

Andy Scott, who has organised the event said: “The evening last year was an incredible success with a large appreciative audience, including many local dignitaries, alongside military representatives.

"If you are unable to travel to the Royal Albert Hall in London this year, we would delighted to welcome you to Andover Remembers.”

The evening will offer an opportunity for the Andover public to remember the brave men and women who have served their country and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, whilst raising money for an extremely worthwhile cause and at the same time enjoying a programme of excellent brass band music.

British Legion Standard Bearers will be involved, alongside a traditional Act of Remembrance, including the Exhortation, Last Post and two minutes of silence.

Money raised during the evening will be donated to the Royal British Legion as part of the 2023 Poppy Appeal.

Tickets for Andover Remembers are available from David Mellor Jewellers (in the Chantry Centre in Andover) or by calling 01264 394 098.

Tickets cost just £10 (adult) and £2.50 (child).
