Remembrance Day will be marked in Andover with a number of services to pay respect to fallen war heroes.

The Royal British Legion are holding a number of services in and around the town, between Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12, to pay respect to those lost in war.

Here is all you need to know about Andover's Remembrance Day services.

Saturday, November 11 (Armistice Day)

Andover

On Saturday, November 11, a short service will be held at the Cenotaph at St Mary’s Church to mark Armistice Day, starting at 10.50am.

Sunday, November 12 (Remembrance Day)

Andover

Veterans, troops, a marching band and uniformed groups will take part in Andover’s Remembrance Sunday Parade on Sunday, November 12.

It will begin at Bridge Street and move towards Winchester Street, onto Eastern Avenue and end at St Mary’s Church.

An indoor service, led by Rev’d Chris Bradish, will be held at 10am in the church before a special service in the Garden of Remembrance at 10.45am.

Tidworth

Tidworth Royal British Legion will hold a service on Pennings Road.

It will begin at 10.50am, with a two minute silence at 11am.

The wreath laying will begin at 11.05am.

Ludgershall

A service to commemorate the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and civilians in times of war will begin at 9.45 am with soldiers from 26 Engineer Regiment marching over the bridge.

A parade will be held at the War Memorial.

At 10am, a service will be held at St James church.

At 11am, a Remembrance Service at the War Memorial will include the laying of wreaths.

These closures will again be enforced from 11.30am until 12pm.

Parking

While the road closures are in place, George Yard and Black Swan Yard car parks will not be accessible, and Town Mills will have very limited availability.

Alternative parking can be found in the Chantry Centre multistorey, Shepherds Spring Lane and Anton Mill.
