Two people have been arrested after cooking oil, suspected to have been stolen, was found in a van near Andover.

At around 5am on Tuesday, February 20, officers stopped a van in Norman Court Lane, Upper Clatford.

Inside they found several drums of cooking oil, with the van and the oil seized.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "A 26-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both from London, were arrested on suspicion of theft.

"They have since been released on police bail until Monday, May 20, pending further enquiries.

"We believe the oil had been stolen, but have yet to find its rightful owner.
