AN ANDOVER woman has been training for her second London Marathon to raise funds for an animal charity.

Tracey Dawber, 53, has been training hard ahead of the marathon on Sunday, April 21, having previously taken part in 2023 to raise money for Dogs Trust.

With just over a month to go until the marathon, Tracey will be undertaking the massive run yet again, but raising money for Cats Protection this time around.

Tracey, who lives in Upper Clatford, can be found running around the country lanes as she steps up her training for the big day, supported by her husband and daughter, accompanying Tracey on a bicycle and rollerblades respectively.

Tracey said: "Do give me a toot of support if you happen to drive past me in your car, I’ll be in my bright yellow Cats Protection vest!"

Tracey is hoping to raise £2,000 for Cats Protection and has managed to raise more than 50 per cent of her target already.

She added: "I’m doing a last push on donations over the coming weeks, all of which will go to the amazing charity, Cats Protection.

"This charity so often gets overlooked in favour of other more socially popular charities, so they especially need your help."

Cats Protection not only rehomes abandoned cats, but also speaks up for cats by campaigning for change across the UK, offering education in the forms of free talks, lesson plans, information packs and interactive activities.

Recently it has launched a free and confidential fostering service for cats whose families are fleeing domestic abuse so they can rest assured their cat will be taken care of until they can be safely reunited.

Tracey said: "If you would like to sponsor me and support this amazing cause, please click on the link below. Your support is hugely appreciated and means the world to me and Cats Protection."
