PEOPLE are being encouraged to hang up their odds socks at various locations in Andover.

The initiative is designed to support World Down Syndrome Day, a global occasion where people come together to celebrate the uniqueness and abilities of individuals with Down Syndrome, taking place on Thursday, March 21.

One of the most recognised ways of showing support is by wearing odd socks, symbolising the extra chromosome that people with Down syndrome have.

This year, Andover Twenty1 invites the community to participate in a special initiative – Odd Sock Bunting.

Locations include Andover Railway Station, The Chantry Centre, as well as the No.78 Speciality Coffee shop and The Travelling Cupcake on the High Street.

From Monday, March 18 to Thursday, March 21 individuals are encouraged to drop by the locations and contribute their socks to the bunting.

For those who prefer not to part with their socks, there will be colouring activities available at some locations so paper socks can be hung instead.

Andover Twenty1 is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals with Down Syndrome and their families.
