ANDOVER Men's Shed will be trialling a number of opening evenings for those who would like to learn woodwork skills.

After starting in 2015 at the Enham Trust, the Shed joins a network of over 1,000 Men's Sheds across the UK, offering a vital space for older men to connect, pursue hobbies, and contribute to the community.

The group, which caters for both men and women, moved into the Chantry Centre as it opened its doors at Unit 9 of the shopping centre in December last year.

It also aims to help improve the wellbeing of members by encouraging them to interact with other members.

Its current opening hours are 10am till 1pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday. These times suit those who are retired but are not convenient for those unable to attend during the day.

As result it will now trial a number of open evenings from 6pm to 8pm to accommodate those interested who are unable to attend during the normal hours.

The first of these will be held on Thursday, April 4 and the group is encouraging people to come along and see what is on offer.

A range of wooden items will be available for sale including bird boxes/tables, plant containers, wooden clocks and a large variety of other wooden novelty signs.

All products will be made by members.
