STUDENTS from a school in Andover will be taking part in a Stand Up To Cancer challenge with the school's favourite fury friend.

Children from Portway Infant School, on Ashfield Road, are taking part in the Stand Up To Cancer Walkies Challenge with the school dog Oakley.

Oakley will be walking towards a 60 mile total throughout April and it has invited the children to join in over the Easter holidays with their own dogs.

After Easter Oakley will be walking with the children and its handler on a dual lead around the school grounds.

“Walks and being with the children are two of Oakley’s favourite things so this challenge is perfect for him,” said its handler Gemma Sacree.

Residents are being encouraged to keep their eyes open over the Easter break for children and dogs wearing red Stand Up To Cancer rosettes, they are walking to help Oakley towards the total.

A fundraiser page has been set up for the challenge, if you would like to donate go to fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/oakleys-giving-page-211701.
