THE best things in life are free, or so the saying goes, but Waitrose has thrown coffee into the mix and it just gets better.
The supermarket chain announced people, not just customers, can get their hands on a free cup of joe with the My Waitrose app on Tuesday, January 21.
The scheme, first launched in 2013, was rowed back in 2017 so only people who bought something could get a hot drink before being paused in 2022.

Scan your physical My Waitrose card, or digital barcode, at the coffee machines and select a drink - the deal also includes dairy alternatives.
In a statement, Waitrose said: "Some of our My Waitrose members like to have the free coffee before they shop or during the shop, rather than afterwards, so we are just offering a bit of flexibility in response to customer feedback."

Before getting too excited, the change is still a few days away. It is set to come into place on Monday, January 27.
The news follows the up-market chain's further loss of ground to M&S last year, which increased its share of the grocery market to 4.03 per cent, compared with 3.76% a year earlier.
Waitrose’s own share fell to 3.91 per cent from 4.02 per cent.
