A planning application for a field access track from Kingsclere Road in Whitchurch to land to the south of Cole Henley Farmhouse Highway crossover, plus field gates and access track has been submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. The application also includes plans for perimeter landscaping and fencing.
According to the application, the proposed field access necessitates the removal of a short section of hedgerow for a gated access to the proposed access track and field access gate to the farmland south of Cole Henley Farmhouse.

Proposals include a new field access track from Kingsclere Road. Grassland to the north of the track will be enhanced, a new area of mixed scrub will be created, and a new native hedgerow plus four individual trees will separate the track from the wider field to the south.
The new access will require the loss of 5m section of hedgerow and verge.
A timber five bar field gate with timber gate posts and galvanised gate fittings would provide access to the proposed track while boundaries would be enforced by post rail and mesh site fencing.
The frontage access of 15m length from the highway to the gated access track, will be constructed as a ‘no-dig’ geogrid system with a non-migratory bitmac surface as shown in the detail below. A similar geogrid system will be utilised for the reinforced grass access track.
