Sarah Jacobs, the Marketing Manager at Age Concern Hampshire, is dedicated to raising awareness and improving support for older people across Hampshire.
It’s been a time of celebration at Age Concern Hampshire as we marked two significant national events: Dementia Action Week (19 to 25 May 2025) and Volunteers’ Week (2 to 8 June 2025).
Our Care and Wellbeing Centres in Yateley, New Milton, Locks Heath and Dibden marked Dementia Action Week with activities including music and pet therapy, which are an integral part of its ongoing commitment to providing person-centred day care in a safe and welcoming environment.
Dementia Action Week also serves as an important reminder of the value of early diagnosis.

Age Concern Hampshire has marked Dementia Action Week and Volunteers' Week. (Image: Age Concern Hampshire) With nearly one million people in the UK currently living with dementia and more than 200,000 diagnosed each year, timely access to care is essential.
At Age Concern Hampshire, we remain dedicated to meeting this growing need by offering high-quality, affordable day care that is tailored to each individual’s needs.
For families who are exploring options or seeking guidance, we invite you to attend a taster day at one of our Care and Wellbeing Centres.
These visits offer a chance to experience first-hand the warm atmosphere, dedicated care and varied activities we provide to support those living with dementia.
As Volunteers’ Week begins, we proudly celebrate the incredible contributions of our volunteers, whose time, dedication and compassion make a lasting difference in the lives of older people across Hampshire.
This national event is a chance to recognise their impact on our communities and inspire others to get involved.
Volunteers are truly at the heart of everything we do at Age Concern Hampshire.
Whether assisting in our centres, offering companionship, helping with events or supporting behind the scenes, every role helps us improve the quality of life for older people.
We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities to suit different interests, schedules and skill sets, all of which bring personal fulfilment, new friendships and a chance to make a meaningful impact.
If you’re thinking about volunteering, there is no better time to join us.
