A home care provider is planning an afternoon of free homemade cakes to celebrate Carers Week.

Everycare (Central Hants) is inviting carers and the community to the event on Thursday, June 12.

The afternoon tea celebration will take place at Victoria Hall in Sutton Scotney between 1pm and 4pm.

The event aims to honour the contribution unpaid carers make, providing them and others with the chance to socialise and enjoy treats free of charge.

As well as an opportunity to thank these unsung heroes, the afternoon will also serve as an introduction to Everycare’s professional home care services which they offer across several areas including Winchester, Andover and Alton.

The afternoon tea is being held as part of Carers Week, a nationwide movement set up to spotlight and appreciate the invaluable services rendered by unpaid carers all across the United Kingdom.
