A SECOND crash in two days has hit Stockbridge Road and has left two people injured, according to the police.

The crash comes under 24 hours after another collision, at the same crossroads, which bisects the A30 between Stockbridge and Salisbury.

The police said: "We were called at 11.17am today (4 July) to a report of a road traffic collision involving a car and a van at the junction of Salisbury Road and the A30.

"The A30 has been closed from the Salisbury Road junction (B3084) to Broughton Down Farm to allow the emergency services to deal with the incident."

The statement continued: "Please find an alternative route if possible and thanks for your patience."

The road is notorious locally, with people greeting the news on community Facebook groups with anger and little surprise.

One said on the Stockbridge Notice Board: "Seems a daily occurrence."

Another user said: "There are lots of junctions like this in Hampshire [...] yet the crash statistics on this junction in particular are insane. It’s almost daily.

Hampshire County Council has been approached for comment.
