A man has been ordered to complete a mental health programme after dumping waste in Overton without a permit.

Daryl Collins, 36, of Pond Close, admitted to disposing of controlled waste including cardboard boxes, make up, children’s play equipment, a white electrical item and other general household waste items in Sapley Lane, Overton, on June 24, 2024.

He did not have the correct permit to dump the items.

Collins appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 1.

The court imposed a community order which includes a six-month mental health treatment requirement, during which he must complete 12 sessions.

He was also ordered to pay £116 in compensation, a £114 victim surcharge, and £380 in court costs.
