Glassblowing demonstrations will be among the experiences on offer at an upcoming Open Studios event.

This festive weekend will see the Project Workshops Christmas Open Studios take place.

Organised by the artists and creators based at the Project Workshops in Quarley, the event will run on December 6 and 7 in what promises to be a celebration of creativity and artistic skill.

Running from 10am to 4pm, the two-day event opens with a warm invitation to explore the talents of numerous local creatives.

Amongst the highlights, Mark Taylor and David Hill will showcase their glass-blowing skills, and the creativity doesn't stop there.

Visitors will have the rare opportunity to observe Sharon Kearley's traditional weaving techniques on her George Dobby Floor loom.

The textile artist will further engage visitors by allowing them to try weaving themselves on her Harris Table Looms.

With live music by folk trio 'Elbow Room,' the event offers a true burst of holiday spirit.

The performances by Mark, a professional fiddle player and teacher, Roger with his squeezebox, and Sean on the Irish bouzouki and guitar will fill the air with melodies that echo British, Irish, European, and American folk traditions.

Joining the event will be an assembly of guest artists, with a line-up that consists of a variety of talents like sculptors Pat Bull, Matt Duke, and Amy Goodman.

Artists like Soraya French and Sally Newton will add a fine art touch to the event, with pottery by Mandy Atkinson-Willes and stone crafts by Zoe Wilson adding to the array.

Mark Taylor and David Hill's glass-mastery, along with the works of other creatives like Kodai and Talos Art Foundry, incorporates a wide scope of artistic disciplines.

The event promises to be a visual spectacle with originals, prints, and gift items available for purchase.

With warm food and refreshments provided by The Tipsy Toastie Van and indoor seating arrangements, visitors can expect a comfortable and homely setting.

Project Workshops is located at Lains Farm, Quarley, Andover. The Christmas Open Studios event will run on December 6 and 7, from 10am to 4pm.
