Hannah Park, head of operations at Age Concern Hampshire, said: "Even simple tasks like shopping, cleaning or preparing meals can increase the risk of falls as people get older.
"Our Help at Home Service provides reliable practical support alongside friendly companionship, helping people feel safe, confident and supported in their own homes."
With age, routine chores such as bending, lifting shopping bags, or reaching high shelves can increase the risk of slips, trips and falls.
Research shows that one in three people aged 65 and over experiences a fall each year, rising to nearly half for those aged 80 and above.
Many falls occur at home during everyday activities and are a leading cause of injury, hospital admission and loss of independence.
Without support, older people may feel compelled to attempt tasks that are physically demanding, leading to fatigue, accidents and isolation.
Regular visits from a trusted helper not only make these tasks safer but also offer companionship, reassurance and social connection.
Age Concern Hampshire’s Help at Home Service is available countywide, with visits tailored to individual needs.
