A MAN who breached a closure order in Basingstoke and was caught with a knife in Andover has been jailed.

Tomas Lloyd, 34, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, March 25, to possessing a bladed article in a public place at Prospect Court, Andover, on and breaching a closure order.

The court heard that on 13 February this year Lloyd entered 6 Vivian Road without reasonable excuse, despite a closure order being in force at the property under anti‑social behaviour legislation.

Then, on 23 March, he was found with a lock knife in Prospect Court, Andover, and had no good reason or lawful authority to have the weapon in the public place.

District Judge Kirsty Allman said the offending was so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified.

The judge cited Lloyd’s “flagrant disregard for court orders” and the fact he had committed multiple offences while on a community order.

Lloyd was jailed for a total of 34 weeks. The lock knife was ordered to be forfeited and destroyed.
