HOW a teenager in Andover died has been left a mystery after the cause of her death was left unascertained.
Pranisha Gurung, 16, of Galahad Close, died at her home on October 1, 2024, a court heard.
The inquest into her death was held at Winchester Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, April 22.
In a statement read by area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp, Ms Gurung’s father, Rambahadur Gurung, said that Ms Gurung died after she came home from college.

He said: “The weekend before her passing was completely normal, and so was the morning of her passing; she got ready for school and then came home at about 1pm. When I asked her if she wanted lunch, she said no and that she had already eaten.”
Mr Gurung said that he was in the kitchen when he heard a noise from the sitting room. When he went to investigate, he found Ms Gurung unresponsive. He called for an ambulance and started CPR, which was taken over by the ambulance team when they arrived.
However, she was pronounced dead at approximately 2.15pm.
A post-mortem, undertaken by Dr Samantha Holden, found no evident cause of death, while a toxicologist report by Dr Peter Street found no traces of alcohol or drugs in her system. The pathologist said that the cause of Ms Gurung’s death was unascertained.
Mrs Rhodes-Kemp said: “I will be contacting the family for medical testing, in case there is some hereditary genetic abnormality which could need monitoring.
“The only conclusion left for me is open, because we do not know how know how she died.
“My deepest condolences to the family in this very tragic case.”
