A MAN who attacked a woman, damaged a child's car seat and made threatening remarks has been handed a community order.

Cameron Blight, 26, of Azalea Court, Andover, appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on April 23 for sentencing on three offences, all committed on November 3, 2024, in Andover.

He assaulted a woman by beating her, damaged a child's car seat belonging to her, and used threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Magistrates sentenced Blight to a community order running until April 22, 2027, requiring 80 hours of unpaid work to be completed within 12 months, along with up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity as directed by his responsible officer.

He was also fined £200 and ordered to pay £200 compensation to the woman, along with a surcharge of £114 and costs of £400, to be paid in monthly instalments of £152.33.

Only limited credit was given for his guilty plea, which was entered on the day of trial.

A restraining order was imposed until April 22, 2028, prohibiting Blight from contacting the victim directly or indirectly, and from entering Lords Way in Andover.
