Cream teas and tractor rides are among the attractions at a community open day.

The Boaz Project is hosting its annual plant sale and open day on Saturday, May 23, from 1pm to 4pm at Hill Farm in Sutton Scotney.

The family-friendly event will feature live music, craft stalls, traditional games and refreshments including homemade cakes, cream teas and ice cream.

General manager Stuart Palmer said: "We hope lots of people will join us for a relaxed and hopefully sunny afternoon on the farm with beautiful views over the countryside.

"Our tractor rides are especially popular with young families, offering a trip around the fields in a hay-filled trailer and a chance to learn a little about what’s grown here."

Visitors can also browse the charity's plant sale, which will offer a range of bedding plants, perennials and vegetables, and there will be a chance to buy  jams and chutney as well as hand-made bird boxes and greetings cards.

The open day also highlights the work of the project’s members.

Mr Palmer said: "The open day is also an opportunity to showcase the hard work of our members who work year-round alongside volunteers and head of horticulture Andy in our allotment garden and polytunnels."

The Boaz Project provides therapeutic day support for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities.
