A patient-led event provided a valuable chance for members of the community to come together.
A patient participation group (PPG) coffee morning, hosted by St Mary’s Surgery, took place on Wednesday, June 10 and welcomed more than 100 patients in just two hours.
The event gave patients a chance to connect with PPG members, learn about current projects and offer suggestions for future initiatives.

Attendees enjoyed tea and coffee and had the opportunity to find out more about becoming a PPG member in an informal setting.
Practice manager Janette Crosby said: "We are delighted with the success of the coffee morning and grateful for the wonderful support from patients, practice staff, volunteers and local health organisations.
"Events like this help us engage with our community, listen to patients views and enhance the patient experience."
Attendees heard from health groups including wellbeing and social prescribing, as well as Mind and a representative from the local Health Hub in the Chantry Centre.
Stephen Logan, secretary of the PPG, said: "The PPG plays a key role in representing patient voices, and the group hopes the event will encourage more people to get involved."
Following the positive response, plans are already being considered for future events, with St Mary’s Surgery PPG hoping to build on the success of this year's coffee morning.
