Creative workshops are giving children a chance to swap screens for sewing needles this summer.

Elizabeth Kestle, owner of Honey & Harmony, is running beginner-friendly hand sewing workshops during the summer holidays.

Held at Bobbins Sewing School, near Stockbridge High Street, the workshops will run on August 12, August 19 and August 26.

Ms Kestle said: "I wanted to create an activity that encourages children to step away from screens, learn a practical skill and experience the satisfaction of making something with their own hands.

"Sewing is such a rewarding hobby.

"It teaches patience, creativity, problem-solving and confidence, and I hope these workshops will give children a fun introduction to a skill they can continue to enjoy at home."

Each session will introduce children to basic hand stitches and guide them through making a felt bookmark to take home.

Designed for complete beginners, the workshops are open to children with no previous sewing experience and include all materials.

In addition to the public sessions, Ms Kestle is offering private group sewing workshops.

Sessions are priced at £12 per child.

She also plans to introduce additional seasonal craft activities throughout the year.
