Rain is finally on the way to Andover after more than two months of dry weather.
Andover has endured weeks of sunshine and below-average rainfall, with Southern Water saying the region’s last significant rain fell on June 11.
July was also one of the driest months on record, raising fears for water supplies, rivers, wildlife and farming across Hampshire.
Southern Water introduced a hosepipe ban in July to protect supplies and ease pressure on vulnerable chalk streams, including the River Test.

The dry spell has also raised fire fears, with several grass and crop fires reported across Hampshire and public warnings issued.
But the Met Office forecasts several spells of rain for Andover this week.
The forecast was correct when published but could change.
The first significant rain is forecast for Tuesday, August 18.
Showers are forecast from 8am to 10am, with the chance of rain rising from 30 per cent at 8am to 40 per cent at 9am before falling back to 30 per cent at 10am.
The chance of rain rises later in the week.
Thursday, August 20, is forecast to be the wettest day, with rain expected from 5am to 11am.
After a brief lull around 9am, rain is forecast again from 1pm to 6pm, with a 60 per cent chance of showers.
The chance of rain remains high into the evening: 50 per cent at 7pm, 40 per cent at 8pm and 30 per cent by 9pm.
Showers are also expected on Friday, August 21, with a 40 per cent chance of rain from 11am to 7pm.
No rain is forecast on Saturday or Sunday, suggesting drier weather could return for the weekend.
Rainfall totals are not expected to be high, but the showers will break the hot, settled pattern of recent weeks.
