A disqualified driver who was caught riding an e-scooter in Andover has been banned from driving for three years.

Tony Harrison, of Basingstoke Probation Service, appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on September 3 and admitted three offences committed in Andover on May 21, 2026.

The 53-year-old pleaded guilty to driving an e-scooter while disqualified, using the vehicle without third-party insurance and stealing a four-pack of Boost energy drinks from the Co-op.

The court heard the disqualified-driving and insurance offences took place on Picket Twenty Way in Andover.

Magistrates banned Harrison from driving for 36 months, fined him £120 and ordered him to pay £40 in court costs.

His driving record was endorsed in relation to the insurance offence, although no separate penalty was imposed.

Harrison was also ordered to pay £3 compensation after admitting stealing the four-pack of Boost energy drinks from the Co-op on the same date.
