Hampshire County Council’s Adult Services department is urging people with elderly or vulnerable neighbours to check on them to make sure that they have everything they need.

Advice is also being given that elderly and vulnerable people should stay indoors, keep warm, and have plenty of hot drinks.

Some domiciallry care providers have been contacted and they are trying their best to visit all clients at least once today, it just may be much later in the day than normal.

Agencies are in contact with families where possible.

However, if you receive home care and the carer hasn’t arrived then please call your home care provider/agency to see what has happened.

They may not be able to provide someone. If this is the case stay indoors and try to contact family or neighbours. If you are unwell contact your GP or in the case of an emergency dial 999.

Hampshire County Council's Community Reablement Service is only responding to emergency call outs.

The Independent Community Equipment Store is operating an emergency service only and all HCC day centres for older people and people with a physical disability have been closed.
